Wacken Open Air 2020 oficialmente cancelado

A 31º edição do Wacken Open Air  está oficialmente cancelada.

De acordo com a decisão desta quarta-feira (15) do governo federal alemão, todos os principais eventos na Alemanha estão proibidos até 31 de agosto de 2020 para impedir a propagação da pandemia do novo Coronavírus (COVID-19). 

"Estamos diante de uma situação sem precedentes e, pela primeira vez em 30 anos, temos que anunciar com o coração partido que, infelizmente, não teremos o Wacken Open Air este ano. Toda a nossa equipe tem trabalhado intensamente no festival nos últimos meses e, quanto mais todos nós estamos amargamente desapontados por não podermos celebrar um Wacken Open Air junto com nossos visitantes e as bandas este ano", disse o  co-fundador do festival Holger Hübner. "A segurança de todos os visitantes, artistas, funcionários, comerciantes, serviços de segurança e resgate, autoridades públicas e todos os outros participantes sempre foi nossa maior prioridade, portanto, como promotores, devemos assumir uma responsabilidade ainda maior e seguir as instruções dos especialistas", acrescentou Thomas Jensen, também co-fundador do festival. 

Informações sobre o WOA 2021 e reembolso dos ingressos deste ano serão anunciados em breve.

O Wacken Open Air 2020, que estava com seus ingressos esgotados, tinha no line-up Slipknot, Amon Amarth, Judas Priest, Over Kill, Mercyful Fate entre outros.
